Have a special recipe, Anchorage? Come with me and let’s write about it!

Have you been meaning to do some writing this summer? I’m teaching a half-day food writing class as part of the food and society conference being held by UAA and APU this month:  “Finding Home in the ‘Wilderness:’ Explorations in Belonging in Circumpolar Food Systems.” We will take a cherished recipe and use it as a way to explore family history and identity as we work together in the genre of food memoir. Beginners welcome. All you need is your recipe (old recipe cards encouraged!) a notebook, and your favorite pen. The class will be held on June 26 in the Anchorage Museum’s new SEED Lab space, from 9am – 12pm. The cost is $85 per person. (There is a limit of 13 participants.) Find all the info about how to register here!
