21 #SoAnchorage Holiday Delights: #2 is this ah-mazing radio light display

Super Anchorage holiday treat number two comes on the suggestion of my friend David Shurtleff who said I should get the boys and take a drive down Elmore Road to where it intersects with Huffman. Just south of the intersection there on the left is a yard with lovely light-covered trees and what I might describe as an illuminated spire that points skyward with a star on top. That is cool on its own, but then you tune the radio to 89.9 FM. Christmas carols fill your car and you soon notice that the lights are flashing on and off in sync with the music. Kind of inspired. This video (my super patient wife made out the window) does it no justice. Also, if you go, try not to get hit by oncoming traffic, because there is no great place to park and take it in.

  • Welcome to our neck of the woods Julia! Last week during the Town Square tree lighting ceremony we were too lazy to drive all the way downtown so we settled for this lovely display instead.
